Mike Meagher discovered his passion for construction while working summers as a laborer in college, culminating in a role tracking granite for One Lincoln Center in Oak Brook. After graduation, he joined McHugh Construction in Chicago as an Estimator and built a decades-long career across project management, business development, and executive leadership, ultimately serving as President for four years.
While serving with the Chicagoland Association of General Contractors (CAGC), Mike helped convene contractors, unions, and developers to address workforce and contractor diversity—an effort that led to the creation of HIRE360, now recognized nationally for its collaborative model.
Through HIRE360 and CAGC, Mike met Brian Ortiz and was inspired by his vision for growth and mentorship within a leading minority-owned business. Though leaving a company he loved was bittersweet, Mike embraced the opportunity to help scale that vision.
Guided by his father’s lesson to treat everyone with dignity and respect, Mike is known for his admiration of the skilled tradespeople who power the industry. He has been married for 31 years and enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, and golfing.
Mike serves on the boards of The 100 Club of Illinois and HIRE360, is Past President of CAGC, and formerly chaired the board of Saint Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota, his alma mater.
